SabiKo ("we," "our," or "us") is an offline-first Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) app. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use the SabiKo mobile application.
2. Information We Collect
Data Stored Locally (On-Device Only)
The following data is stored exclusively on your device and never leaves it unless you explicitly enable cloud backup:
- Vocabulary, communication boards, and word customizations
- User profile settings and preferences
- Message history and usage statistics
- Custom audio recordings
- Grid layouts and folder structures
Cloud Backup (Optional, Pro Feature)
If you enable cloud sync, your backup data (vocabulary, boards, settings, and profiles) is uploaded to Supabase cloud storage via your Google account. Backups are tied to your Google Sign-In identity.
Crash Reports (Sentry)
We collect anonymized crash reports to fix bugs. These contain device type, OS version, and error stack traces. No personal data, vocabulary, or communication content is included in crash reports.
Purchase Data (RevenueCat)
If you subscribe to SabiKo Pro, RevenueCat processes your purchase. We receive entitlement status (active/inactive) but never see payment details. Those are handled entirely by Apple or Google.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the limited information we collect solely to:
- Provide and maintain app functionality
- Process in-app purchases and subscriptions
- Fix crashes and improve stability
- Provide cloud backup service (when enabled by you)
4. Data Storage & Security
Local data is stored in SQLite databases on your device, protected by your device's built-in security (passcode, biometrics, encryption).
Cloud backups use Supabase Storage with row-level security policies, ensuring only you can access your data. All data in transit uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.
5. Third-Party Services
SabiKo uses the following third-party services:
- Google Sign-In: Authentication for cloud backup
- Supabase: Cloud backup storage
- RevenueCat: In-app purchase management
- Sentry: Crash reporting and error tracking
- Apple App Store / Google Play Store: Purchase processing
Each service has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.
6. Children's Privacy
SabiKo may be used by children as an AAC communication tool. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or applicable age in your jurisdiction).
The app functions fully offline without any data collection. Cloud features require a parent or guardian's Google account. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Export all your data via the local backup feature
- Delete your cloud backups at any time
- Delete your account and all associated cloud data
- Request a copy of any data we hold about you
- Opt out of crash reporting
8. Data Deletion
- Local data: Uninstall the app or reset your profile from within the app settings.
- Cloud data: Delete from the cloud sync settings within the app, or email us at support@sabikoaac.app.
- Crash report data: Automatically deleted after 90 days.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated via app update notes.
